Access (car) Take the Minakami IC off the Kanetsu Expressway and head towards Tanigawadake on Route 291 for about 15 minutes. At the Oana traffic lights hang a right onto Route 63, and just after crossing the bridge over the Yubiso River there is a little lane on your left with Canyons 20 metres up this lane on your left.
Access (train) (1)From JR Joetsu Line Minakami Station, about 10 minutes by shuttle bus.
(2)From JR Joetsu Shinkansen Line Jomokogen Station to Minakami Station by local bus - 25 minutes. 10 minutes from Minakami Station to Canyons.
※We offer a shuttle service from Minakami Station but do require prior notification.

Notes on participation

Personal Effects Canyons provide the snowshoes and poles. Heat keeping thermal innerwear(synthetics are preferable)、towel、change of clothes、gloves、hat、sunglasses/goggles

Tour StartMeeting at Canyons Base in Minakami
Meet at the Adventure Centre in Minakami and head in to Reception to sign in. Snowshoeing is relatively safe but is still an outdoor sport so we get you to fill out a tour participation form for insurance purposes. It is also a good chance to settle up the tour fee.
Ready to go?A quick crash course on how to walk in snow shoes….
Once the gear is all sorted it is off to the start point. Get used to the snowshoes and the poles as the guide explains the best way to use them.
