The town is rich in natural onsens, has Mount Tanigawa in its backyard and is surrounding by beautiful Japanese countryside. Canyons is located in prime position, nestled at the foot of the mountains with the river right outside.

Minakami Rafting
Spring is the time for world-class rapids in Minakami with the melt from the winter snowing coming off Mount Tanigawa and swelling the Tone River. With all the extra water and the high grade sections, spring offers the opportunty to do the long full day tour. The summer tour is more of a mellow experience with less challenging rapids but still plenty of fun to be add both in and out of the boat.

In Spring (April-June) the river is cranking as snowmelt floods the river and creates worldclass whitewater. We mkae the most of it with this special trip which navigates over 25kms of whitewater combined with a delicious riverside lunch. This is our most popular trip in May!
