There is only one exit at JomoKogen Station so the bus is easy to recognize. Those on an afternoon tour that would like to come early for lunch should arrive at least 1 hour prior to tour time.

Access
Train:
From Ueno Stn. take the Joetsu Bullet train to Taksaki Stn. Change to the Agatsuma Line and get off at Naganohara
Kusatsuguchi Stn. There is a relay bus to Kusatsu bus terminal where you will be picked up. 150 mins 6,500yen (210
mins 5,500 yen on the slow train)
Car:
From Tokyo
Take the Kanetsu Expressway to Shibukawa I.C. then take route 145 towards Kusatsu. When you get to Naganohara Kusatsuguchi Station follow the map to the base (

From Nagano
Take the Joshinetsu Expressway to Shinshu Nakano I.C. and follow signs onto the Shiga Nakano
toll road for Shiga Kogen. The toll road runs into Rte 292 for Shiga Kogen. Continue over Mt Shirane to Kusatsu and then follow the map.

Go towards and past Kobe.Take Hanshin Expressway 3 to Akashi bridge . Follow the Expressway across Awaji, and onto Shikoku. After that head onto the Takamatsu Expressway then get off at Itano. Take the road towards Aizumi then get on the Kochi Expressway, headed for Kochi. Exit at Ikawa-Ikeda. Turn Left off the expressway and follow route 32 towards Kochi for about 35 minutes.Look for an orange bridge on your left and a sign for Tosa-Iwahara Station. After crossing the bridge turn left. Just past the station,(its a small building) is a driveway leading down to the river and our base. Come on down.
From Okayama-Chugoku
Take the Sanyo Expressway over the Seto bridge then follow the Takamatsu Expressway towards Kochi. Get off at Otoyo then follow route 32 towards Ikeda for about 25 minutes. Look for an orange bridge and a sign for Tosa-Iwahara Station as your turn-off on the right. Cross the bridge, take a left then just past the station is a driveway down to the river and our base. Come on down.

Hakuba Access
BY CAR TO HAKUBA From Tokyo There are two options from Tokyo to get to Hakuba by car
1. Take the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway. Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 &148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba. 4hrs
2. Take the Kanetsu Expressway to the Fujioka J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Joshinetsu Expressway. Exit at the Nagano Interchange and follow the Hakuba Nagano Olympic Road to Hakuba. 4hrs
From Nagoya Take the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway. Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 &148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba. 3.30hrs
From Osaka or Kyoto Take the Meishin Expressway to the Komki J.C.T, head up the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway. Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 & 148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba. 5.30hrs

BY TRAIN TO HAKUBA From Narita Airport Passengers transferring from Narita Airport board the Narita Express to Tokyo or Shinjuku Station. Frequent departures from airport rail terminal. Traveling time to Tokyo - 1hr
From Tokyo Departing from Tokyo Station to Nagano passengers board the Nagano Bullet Train (Asama Shinkansen). Travelling time 1.30hrs.
The bullet trains run regularly throughout the day.?
From Nagano Station
Buses from Nagano to Hakuba run every hour, with the last bus departing Hakuba at 8:20pm. (Friday night 9.20pm). Alpico bus cost per person 1400yen one way.?Buses depart from the East (Higashi) exit of Nagano Station from bus stop 6
